Dick purchased this truck back in the late 70’s from a gentleman who had it stored at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima. He stored it at the large garage at his son’s business in Chatsworth until he was ready. His goal was to restore it to perfect stock condition. When he first saw the truck, it was mostly primer with yellow fenders. He sent it to a friend in Nevada to paint it. Wanting to avoid the popular color of red that so many use, he chose the pale green that you see in the photos. The friend in Nevada went about painting it, starting with powder coating all. After finishing the powder coating and painting, Dick was so disappointed to learn that powder coating was not a stock option when the car was built. There was no way to reverse this so sadly he had to accept the car would never be perfectly stock. Another piece that has been replaced is the engine. The original being unsatisfactory, he found one in Texas more suitable. It sat around in his garage waiting to be rebuilt for nearly 10 years until one day his son encouraged him to start in on it and together they finished it.
