I purchased this ’51 Ford about 30 years ago because my first car was a ’51 Ford. The person I purchased the car from said it overheated and said he was done with it. I realized he was right because on my way home the car overheated.

I have had the car running for about 17 years. It has a Merc-crank-heads-cam and Petronix ignition. It is lowered some (too much) and still a 3-speed overdrive car. Leslie and I enjoy it when we have the time to go to local events.

Last year at the Road Kings show, just as we were about to leave, this guy walked up and said that Robert Mitchum was looking for the car. It was Jay Leno. He was referring to the movie classic Thunder Road. He asked what was under the hood and I opened the hood and he said “Oh, it is old school.”
